Black Horse Westerns
As Charles Gilson's line of employment usually involves wanted dodgers and a sawn-off shotgun, when he receives news of an inheritance, he is determined to make a fresh start. But Gilson has competition for the money: Theodore Alden has charged his lawyer with securing it by fair means or foul.
With everyone, including Town Marshal Hardy, against Gilson, the odds seem stacked against him - it will take more than a few bullets to secure what is rightfully his...
Mayle Stone, a young fur trapper, lives with Izusa, a Cherokee woman whom he received as 'payment' for a wolf skin from a Cherokee brave. During a visit to Fort St Vrain for supplies, Izusa comes to the attention of an outlaw, Jon Rudyman, who plans to kill the trapper and take the woman. The plan has flaws, however, and Stone survives, but Izusa disappears.
Henceforth Stone is out for revenge. But also looking for Rudyman is Bounty Hunter Rey Heston. It's a race to see who will track down Rudyman first.
